Cindy Sturla, CFWS artist, offers watercolor classes

Classes are held  in Studio One, at Gallery on First, 211 E First Street, Sanford, FL.

  • Watercolor I is offered Tuesday afternoons, 1:30 – 4:30. This classs is for first-time  painters wanting to learn the basics of watercolor painting.
  • Watercolor II is offered Friday mornings from 10am – 1pm. This is for the painter with past experience in watercolor painting who wants to improve their skills.

For each class, there is a painting project which the students complete by following me through a demo.
Classes are small so there is a lot of one on one teaching.  The cost per class is $25 or $95 for four classes.  Please contact Cindy Sturla via email for more information or registration.

Free Online Course: Transfer Drawings With Tracing Paper

Karen Bowden, CFWS member, now offers courses online. Her first free course shows how to work on the composition beforehand. Then how to economically transfer it to watercolor paper. You can find the course at Skillshare where you can sign up for free: http://skl.sh/2fNhxIk

At the end of the course, you can see a time lapse of the watercolor painting of two Scrubjays transferred using this technique.

Volunteer Opportunities

CFWS depends on member participation to fulfill its’ mission.  There are a number of opportunities for you to get involved by volunteering to be a board member, assist a board member in their duties or joining a committee in organizing the various events held throughout the season.

We currently need a Plein Air coordinator and individuals to assist with the Annual Show.  Board position openings will be posted for your consideration as the need arises.

Descriptions of the various Board positions are described here.

Member Directory now .pdf

The 2016-17 Membership Directory has been distributed to the current membership in .pdf format via email.  If you are current in your membership but did not receive your copy, contact our membership coordinator.

There will not be a printed version of the directory.  The directory will be updated periodically during the season and redistributed.

Thanks,
CFWS Board

You all help so much and I look forward to another year of “fast and furious fun!”
