The president, Mary Dall, welcomed the members and guests.
She thanked the Winter Garden Art Association and the many people who made the juried show a rousing success and the reception especially fun. Special thanks went out to Jackii Molsick and Sandi Hanlon-Breuer, the co-chairs and to Jane Brinckerhoff who collected and sent the jpgs and designed the beautiful postcard. The president thanked Janet Asbury, Judi Kaye and Mike Malloy who advertised via their separate functions and any and all who helped to make the event a success. The winners of the Juried Show were announced, recognized and congratulated.
Karen Bowden, librarian and coordinator of the upcoming studio show, had Jason Lee stop in. Jason Lee from Chapman-Leonard spoke to the people who will be hanging at the studio. They came up and talked with him to confirm their entries/acceptance/paperwork. There was a question about who got into the show as there was some confusion as to the procedure since some felt the interest sheet was a confirmation sheet. The information had been available on the website. It was explained and members were confirmed. The president apologized for any confusion.
Lost and found items were presented. Several members came up and took their belongings. The bulk of the items were claimed. From now on items left behind will be pictured in the newsletter and, if not claimed after a reasonable amount of time, donated to charity.
The president said that we still had a few openings in the Feb. 6-7-8 workshop.
Jaimie Cordero was asked to reach in the raffle bin and pull the winning ticket. The winner of the Frank Frances beautiful painting donated by Jackii Molsick was Donna Coulantes. Congratulations Donna!
The president reminded the assembly that we have some critical positions on the board that we need to fill for the 2017-18 season.
Jaimie Cordero was then introduced and presented a wonderful demonstration for the assembly of nearly 80 in attendance.
