The director of specialty programs at the Orlando Science Center is working with The American Physical Society on a new show at the FUSION GALLERY. They are looking for works inspired by the Everglades and the world of fluid dynamics, the movement and behavior of liquids and gases. The exhibition aims to highlight the rich intersection of art and science while celebrating the beauty, complexity, and creativity found in both fields.

OPEN CALL FOR ART AND SCIENCE EXHIBITION IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA:
The Gallery of Fluid Motion invites local artists based in Orlando, Florida and surrounding areas to submit work exploring the Everglades and the captivating world of Fluid Dynamics: the movement and behavior of liquids and gases. This exhibition seeks to illuminate the rich intersections of art and science, celebrating the nuanced and expansive nature of this field.
Artists and scientists from all disciplines and backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Selected works will be exhibited in the Orlando Science Center’s Fusion STEAM Gallery, with an opening scheduled for November 2026.
We welcome submissions in all media and formats – video, photography, painting, sculpture, mixed media, and more. Please note that all artwork must be drop-off and pick-up only.
Important Dates:
• Submission Deadline: Sunday, September 13, 2026, at 11:59 PM
• Selected Artists Notified by: Sunday, October 4, 2026 at 11:59 PM
• Artwork Drop-Off Deadline: Friday, November 13, 2026, by 4:00 PM
• Exhibition Dates: November 21, 2026, through April 18, 2027
• Artwork Pick-Up Deadline: Friday, April 23, 2027, by 4:00 PM
Eligibility & Artwork Requirements:
• Artwork must be suitable for audiences of all ages. Works containing violence, discriminatory
themes, nudity, sexual content, or overt political messaging will not be accepted.
• Maximum standard size for 2D artwork is 30 x 40 inches.
• A digital image of each submitted work is required.
• Accepted artwork must include the artist’s name and artwork title attached to the back (2D work)
or bottom (3D work).
• Artists must provide an insurance value for each accepted piece.
Sales:
- Artwork may be offered for sale during the exhibition.
- Pricing will not be displayed in the gallery; artists may provide a QR code on their label for
purchase inquiries. - All sales and transactions are handled directly by the artist.
- Sold artwork must remain on display for the duration of the exhibition.
- A voluntary 20% donation to Orlando Science Center from sales is appreciated and helps support the gallery’s programs.
