Our first meeting, of the 2022-2023 season was held September 11, 2022 (1:30-4 pm) at Maitland Presbyterian Church, 341 N. Orlando Avenue, Maitland, FL 32751. CFWS has met there in the past. We participated in our very popular “Show and Tell” program. It was a wonderful opportunity to meet and greet, be introduced to the new directory, meet the board and find out what is planned for the new season.

We introduced the new members Rene Tanner and William and welcomed them to our society!

Janet Asbury introduced the latest membership booklet, which she said we could print out or leave on our desktop. Janet also does our fabulous newsletter! Please note… get her your information by the 10th of the month for the next issue. THANK YOU JANET!

Rose Gregorio and Beverly Bargren, who have worked at the front tables for many years, were introduced to the members. Their happy faces are the ones that greet you as you come in the check in table and get your badges. Don’t forget to say “Hi” and log in to the membership book.

Charlie Cipes and Pam Chock were thanked for their 3 years as co-presidents. WOW! We appreciate their hard work and sunny personalities.

It is a fun group and we are still looking for a new president or co-presidents for our upcoming season.

Susan’s Rooster

Susan Grogan announced our upcoming 2 day workshop with Linda Wokoun, on October 27th & 28th. She will paint magnolia blossom one day and tomatoes the next. Her workshop is “Positive Flow, Negative Painting”. Early bird is $150 for members, a few seats are available. See our post on this website for more information.

Susan is also organizing our March 6, 7, 8 workshop in Mt. Dora in 2023. Christopher Leeper, who does glowing landscapes and has participated in national plein air events.

Ann Worrall. our publicity chair, was thanked for getting our society in Orlando Arts magazine, Orlando at Play and many other venues for advertising our shows and accomplishments.

Karen Bowden library chair, will be looking into some new ideas for promoting our vast book/dvd library.

Marcela Moglia our plein air chair, announced our new plein air schedule for the season and there are lots of beautiful Central Florida locations we will be painting at. Marcela’s committee of Thouraya Z. and Leslie Rossetti are helping to plan these events. So, join us out in the sun for some fun!

Diane Darnall our membership chair said we have 109 members and then made the announcement that Alice D. won the free one season membership in our summer membership drive. Congratulations Alice!
