Kim Minichiello, past president of Florida Watercolor Society and a longtime member of Central Florida Watercolor Society, passed away suddenly during a plein air trip in Montana on July 23, 2021.

Kim pursued her dream of being a professional artist with gusto. Her love was watercolor and she was on the way to mastering the medium. She was a mentor, teacher and productive artist. Her work had won numerous awards and she was featured in a selection of professional art magazines focusing on watercolor painting and technique.

She was a signature member of numerous watercolor societies including American Women Artists-AWA, American Watercolor Society-AWS, California Art Club, Out of State Artist, Florida Watercolor Society-FWS, Georgia Watercolor Society-GWS, Pennsylvania Watercolor Society-PWS and the Louisiana Watercolor Society-LWS.

I came across this Interview with Kim by Eric Rhoads, the publisher of Outdoor Painter and other art services. It is his memorial to Kim. He thought very highly of her.

A donation has been made to FWS to go toward the Kim Minichiello Memorial Award to be given in her honor.  Thank you to the members who donated through CFWS: Janet Asbury, Jane Brinckerhoff , Pamela Chock, Susan Jane Donahoe, Dione Fetner, Stewart M Jones, Terri Lachowicz-Chin, Marcela Moglia, Marianna Ross , Bonnie B.
