What a beautiful reception we had last Friday. Thank you Leslie Macaulay, Donna Coulantes and Mary Dall for organizing this special reception. Opening remarks started with a little background of our society which began in 1998. Ken Austin, our founder, and Nancy Larkin, our fist president, were presented with big thank you cards signed by members wishing to express their appreciation for all of the support they have given the CFWS over the years.
Next we honored the Charter Members, of that first group of watercolor artists, known by the name “Aquamedia Society”. The members there were Roberta Lerman, Stewart Jones, Jane Brinckerhoff, Nancy Larkin, Katherine Davis and Ken Austin.
Next, we acknowledged the contributions and hard work of CFWS presidents: Nancy Larkin, Mary Dall, Cindy Sturla, Faye Tambrino, Stewart Jones, Ken Austin (founder), Teresa Chin and Bob Hague.
Janet Asbury presented 3 framed watercolor “quilts” to the Altamonte Chapel Board. Serina Ramos-Colon, Dave Dickman, Brian Lee, Wendy and Chip Bashinski were on hand to see the beautiful artworks.
And the moment everyone was waiting for… the announcement of the awards that juror, American Impressionist watercolor artist Michael Holter chose.
