Past President and board advisor, Mary, led the first meeting our 2023-2024 season… which is also our 25thAnniversary season with enthusiasm and humor!

Mary introduced our officers and other members of the board of directors. Sandi B. (Secretary), Julie N. (Vice President), Pam C. (Treasurer), Diane D. (Membership), Terri C. (Web content), Leslie R. (Facebook), Susie, Rose, & Beverly (our lovely Greeters).
We were honored that our Founder, Ken Austin and our first President, Nancy Larkin were in attendance. Their enthusiastic guidance and wisdome has been vitally important these past 25 years! Thank you Ken and Nancy!!
Janet our fabulous Newsletter editor and designer, held up a copy of our soon to be released members directory and showed how to staple it together for easy reference.
To celebrate our special year, we invited our members to submit one painting per artist for our 25th Anniversary online exhibition called “Soaring”. This is a FREE, non-juried show for ALL members in good standing.
Paintings do not have to be recent, no size limit, no framing or matting is required.
Entering in the online show does not preclude entering in the annual members show, if the painting meets the prospectus guidelines. “
Entries are open from now, Sept 15, until midnight of Oct. 15.

Susan our Workshops Co-Ordinator, announced our April 8, 9, 10, 2024 workshop with national watercolor artist Anne Abgott! She will also be our demonstration artist and judge for our annual juried show. (Registration will start Jan. 1, 2024.)
Thouraya talked about our fun plein events and invited artists to join a special beach day on Oct. 18, at Cherie Down Park, Cape Canaveral. Information on our website.
Ann, our Publicity chair, mentioned all of the publications she has been sending information to to promote our society.
Jane was introduced to the members as our jpeg guru who helps us with our images when entering our shows. She is always kind and helpful.
Lois, our Hospitality chair, set up our snacks and also had a table of extra goodies for our members to take if interested, and at the end of the meeting donated some decorations for the library to use.
After introductions of officers nad general business, we grabbed some snacks and members shared the art that they had been working on over the summer. There were realistic and abstract paintings, sketches, and journals made from recycled materials. We had art in watercolor, goache and even wine! It was a big show of talent and 39 members and 2 guests, all got to know each other!
See you all October 1, at 1:30 PM, for a special ZOOM presentation of a watercolor demonstration by artist Shelley Prior. She will be painting a beautiful swan! I have watched several of her videos and she is a wonderful artist/teacher. This will be a great meeting, so mark your calendars today!
