Sunday, May 4th was our last members meeting for the 2024-2025 Season. 32 members, and one guest, were in attendance.
Mary D. led the official election of CFWS officers, four were nominated and voted on as the chief officers. All other positions on the board are appointed, and don’t require a vote.
It was unanimous! Congratulations to:

Ann R. will be taking Publicity under the umbrella of Communications and will be doing post on Facebook, Orlando at Play and their Calendar.

Thank you to all of the other board and chair members for their service throughout the past season. We appreciate you all! Each and every one of you donate your time and considerable talent to keep our society moving forward! Wow!

Diane talked about renewing membership new because our season will start in September. We will be busy this summer with a online show “Two to Tango” and OSC exhibit “The Not So Secret Life of Plants” … more perks of membership!
Sharon S. talked about the upcoming Art Week in N.C. at Camp Linn Haven. See the CFWS website post for details.
Our condolences go out to the family of long time member Glen Ward. He was one of the 3 watercolor artists featured in the Legends portion of the CityArts show.
Share & Care: Mary Ellen Carrier asked for help with her abstract painting inspired by her recent workshop with Cheryl Fausel. Sharon Stitely took a wildlife image off of the TV. Diane Darnall wanted design feedback on her painting of Victoria Falls and Thouraya Zapara had been to Mauna Kea. Leslie Rossetti took flight with an owl and asked for advice on what kind of background to add. Thank you to all who shared thier WIP!



FYI: Susan Grogan announced her May 8 teaching class at Mt. Dora Center for the Arts.

The samples that Diane brought illustrate just how many shades of color you can mix with only 2 pigments. Example first 2 rows, top right is Ultramarine Blue + Burnt Sienna. Second 2 rows in middle, Cobalt Blue + Burnt Sienna. Bottom 2 rows, Payne’s Grey + Burnt Sienna.


A good time was had by all and we made $300 in doantions from members cleaning out their closets and bringing thier art supplies to give away! Thank you to all who participated! So, remember to sign up for our next season … it will be another action packed creative whirlwind! See you soon!
