I was very happy to find 3 of Ken’s small works that appealed to me because they show his approach to abstracted subjects. The images are below.
‘An evening bloom’ is a sketch on clayboard possibly using watercolor and gouache. This is a small abstracted flower on an evening sky with the sea and a beautiful sun starting to set on the background. It is small and quite lovely.
‘Morning Coffee’ is a watercolor. The darks and lights are very rich and just right. It is beautiful. We will see it every morning.
‘Abstract’ seems to be done in mixed water media. It is vibrant and intricate, done mostly in blues with touches red, pink, gold and silver. It immediately reminded me of Art Deco and jazz.
Thank you Marcela, for sharing your fun visit to Ken Austin’s Farewell Art Exhibition at FAVO studio. A final encore on November 15th and 16th from 6 PM to 9 PM.
