Julie N. led the festivities and made the announcements for the winners. There was a god turnout for the reception and food and wine was delicious.

As I viewed the exhibition, it was a delight to see such varied subject matter. As is the case with most exhibitions, there were more prize winners than there were awards to be given. The paintings I chose to honor showed an excellent level of technical ability in the control and understanding of the watercolor medium, as well as the handling of light. In addition, there were many stories being told, which is an added positive aspect, when viewing someone’s statement, exposed in a piece of art work. These stories also serve to draw the viewer in, while looking at a piece of art work.

Thank you for the honor of judging this fine exhibition. I wish all artists contributing art to exhibitions, to keep on painting and entering your work in competitions, even when the result is not what you were hoping for. Keep in mind that all judging is subjective and stand by your work. Congratulations to all the winners, for your exceptional work.
